YOU HAVE A POWERFUL VOICE LIKE GOD
The POWER OF SPEECH is undeniable because giving a speech is using your rights to voice things out. By giving a speech, we can express our opinions and views. We can stand up and fight for what we believe in. We can present our arguments in doing what we think is right.
We have a tongue and a voice. These instruments of speech can be used destructively or employed constructively. SPEECH IS A POWERFUL TOOL, if used correctly. Speech can do many things, but there are two main things that speech is the best at. It can create good things and destroy them as it pleases; and also, it can bless and curse as it pleases.
You can use your tongue to slander, to gripe, to scold, to nag, and to quarrel; or you can bring it under the control of God’s Spirit and make it an instrument of blessing and praise. The 20th century version of James 3:3 says,
“Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body."
The tongue is the most difficult aspect of our lives to truly control. James goes so far as to say anyone who could perfectly control his words would be perfect and in full control of every part of himself.
Just so, when we submit to the claims of Christ upon our lives, our untamed natures are brought under His control. We become meek, tamed, and “fit for the Master’s service.”
YOUR PRAYER: I desire to be under Your control, Lord Jesus Christ. Take away the pride that keeps me from complete submission.
